Happy New Year

Jan 03
2012

2011 has come and gone. It was not an easy year by any measure. I worked like a maniac and had a lot less time to dedicate to my relationships or to any hobbies. There were family illnesses that caused much stress and we had to put our cat down (rest in peace Chip).  But after spending Christmas week in Mexico analyzing the year, the Boo and I came to the conclusion that we are entering 2012 wiser, calmer and more focused on what’s important. So a happy new year is much in the plans. I wish you much happiness in the new year as well!

Mexico was our long-awaiting vacation. Barring the unfortunate experience we had with a rental car and the Mexican police (!), we had a super sweet vacation in Playa Del Carmen. We also made it out to the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza and to the island of Cozumel. Here are a few Instagram shots from the trip!

A pit stop for some fresh coconut water:

Chichen Itza was fascinating.

A Tequila Sunrise and an afternoon snack:

Some Things…

2011

I haven’t been a very productive picture taker in the past months but I did manage to pull out my camera a couple times.

A couple of weeks ago, I flew out to Moncton, New Brunswick to see my best friends from high school. Despite the rain we had tons of fun, and it was amazing to see everyone together again (everyone except Melanie, who was stuck at home, pregnant with twins!).

I also attended an event at the furniture boutique Artemano on St-Laurent here in Montreal. This store was a nice discovery for me: lots of beautiful wood furniture, Indian influences, lots of pieces with rustic touches. One of their massive and irregular-shaped wood tables would make a lovely addition to any home.

Also, I managed to snap a few shots my friend’s baby boy and the family cats.  Because there’s always room for some cuteness.

What have you been up to lately?

Ok, so it’s a tiny bit kitschy. But it made me smile! This hotel room at Maison Moschino Design Hotel in Milan wins major points for originality.

Say Goodbye to Luggage Carousel Confusion

2010

PROS of the Heys USA Britto Collection:

  • You will never get your suitcase confused with someone else’s. Goodbye to luggage carousel mix-ups.
  • Kind of cute, and definitely distinctive.

CONS:

  • You will probably get really sick of this design. Like, REALLY.

Either way, I think it’s nice they did something new with boring old luggage.

Wow! I usually travel with a classic stainless steel mug, but I love the originality of the travel mugs from this Etsy shop.
