The Princess and the Pea

The Princess and the Pea was one of my favourite stories growing up. I delighted in imagining all of those mattresses stacked on top of each other.  So I was pretty excited when I saw this photo from Lela Rose’s bridesmaid dress lookbook… Do you think they really put a pea underneath the mattresses?

A Rainbow-Hued Wedding Dress

Wow, this bride’s dress is STUNNING – doesn’t she look beautiful? I love how different it is! It is 100% silk and was custom-made by Wai-Ching Clothing.

See more shots of this beautiful Connecticut wedding here and here.

The flower girls were pretty darn cute as well:

Lisa & Alain

On July 31, my friend Lisa, who has been near and dear to me for the past 18 years, got married to her sweetheart, Alain. The festivities were held in the Champagne region in France, where Alain grew up. I wanted to share some photos of their GORGEOUS wedding, which was extremely touching and so much FUN! …  A HUGE thanks to Teri whose photos I liberally pilfered for my blog posting purposes!

Here are the Compagnons doing an archway after the church wedding!

First there was a civil wedding at Breuil town hall, and then a church wedding next door, in Breuil’s tiny and SUPER old church.

Not sure WHY we were laughing, but this outtake makes me laugh.

Some of the greatest friends a girl could ask for. Taken at the “vin d’honneur” where we drank much champagne and ate little beignets.

Shoe fashion! And yes, I really should have had nail polish. I’m a little embarrassed!

Teri got some great “under the umbrella” shots of the different couples!

The Best Apricots

Aug 04
2010

One of my favourite memories from visiting Lebanon last summer was the fruit.  Specifically, the cherries and apricots were irresistibly yummy.  In fact, I didn’t particularly like apricots before my visit to Lebanon; how that changed once I sunk my teeth into a Lebanese apricot!  It must be something about the Middle Eastern sun; the fruit were perfectly ripened, sweet but still firm. I ate them until my belly ached, but I’ve never been able to find apricots nearly as good back in Montreal.

What is the best fruit you’ve ever had?

I really like Gwyneth Paltrow: she is talented, beautiful and sends fun emails.  This picture is too fantastic to be.
