Twins

I’ve always had a fascination with twins.

The fact that two human beings can look identical and share such a close bond boggles my mind.

Matchbook Magazine: Field Guide to a Charmed Life

Two of my favourite bloggers, the lovely Katie Armour of the blog The Neo-Traditionalist and Jane Lilly Warren of Lox Papers, have launched a new online mag called Matchbook.  I’m so excited to devour the premier issue as I am in love with their sunny outlook on life and the girly yet sophisticated aesthetic. To give you an idea, take a look at their mission statement:

New Canadian Mag: Covet Garden

Oct 05
2010

Covet Garden is the latest magazine to enter the online space, joining the likes of Rue and Lonny magazines. The mission statement: Covet Garden is for folks who are curious about real spaces. We take a peek into the homes and lives of some of the city’s most interesting people—spaces that have not been styled by interior decorators. Covet Garden is inspirational, not aspirational.

I would say the the first two issue live up to that promise! The latest issue features the home of schoolteachers and globetrotters Shelley and Brendon and their daughter Clover. Their place is located in the Leslieville neighbourhood of Toronto. I’m SO excited that this mag is Canadian but above all I love that it features real homes and real people. That you learn about the personalities that inhabit the space. And that if you’re inspired by Shelley and Brendon’s sense of style, Covet Garden provides related features and resources to bite your teeth into.

This nursery is GORGEOUS. The colourful paper flowers KILL me..

Dans La Rue

So many bloggers are buzzing with excitement about Rue Magazine, which will launch next month. I was already a fan of the founders’ blogs for their impeccable tastes (Plush Palate, Sacramento Street & The City Sage) and seeing ShelterPop’s sneak peak certainly whet my appetite for the complete first issue!

Let me count the ways I love this bedroom: 1) the chandelier-in-the-bedroom trend, done differently, 2) the pristine whites mixed up with antique and more ornate touches such as the frames and mirrors 3) the U.S. Mail pillows – are those vintage mail bags??, 4) the framed butterfly collections on the floor next to each nightstand, 5) the sunburst mirror above the bed is SO pretty and 6) I just want to jump in that bed! And sleep in it.
