My friend Mireille certainly has an eye for a beautiful piece of furniture. When she spotted an old chair in a dumpster in Ottawa she decided it still had potential, so she took it home. She asked a friend, Chris Lewis, to reupholster the chair for her. Chris removed the wicker from the sides, changed the fabric to a more classic colour and added some extra cushioning. The result is nothing short of stunning – check it out!

Richy and I are “feet putter-uppers”: we like to have our feet up when we’re sitting on the sofa. I’m therefore looking for an ottoman or a poof so we can kick back in style. Last weekend in Chicago, I was quite smitten with everything (and I mean everything) in Jonathan Adler‘s shop – I was very much like a kid in a candy shop. Among other perfect home decor gems, I fell in love with this lovely ottoman, the x-bench. You can have it upholstered in a variety of fabrics, patterns and colours. Unfortunately an ottoman doesn’t exactly travel well in a suitcase; I’m stuck with Montreal offerings when it comes to furniture… But a girl can dream, no?
