Sixagon Side Table
2010
The Sixagon side table made by Misewell (available on Horne) is made of steel in the USA. I love how it combines an industrial aesthetic with bright colours!

Thomas Eyck is a Dutch publisher and distributor who commissions a new artist each year to create a series that unites design and materials. These “urchin poofs,” created by Christien Meindertsma, are made of New Zeland wool and handknit in The Netherlands. I love these and I love that she used knitting in such an unconventional way! And they do sort of look like urchins, no?
Richy and I are “feet putter-uppers”: we like to have our feet up when we’re sitting on the sofa. I’m therefore looking for an ottoman or a poof so we can kick back in style. Last weekend in Chicago, I was quite smitten with everything (and I mean everything) in Jonathan Adler‘s shop – I was very much like a kid in a candy shop. Among other perfect home decor gems, I fell in love with this lovely ottoman, the x-bench. You can have it upholstered in a variety of fabrics, patterns and colours. Unfortunately an ottoman doesn’t exactly travel well in a suitcase; I’m stuck with Montreal offerings when it comes to furniture… But a girl can dream, no?
The Ledge by Urbancase is a minimalist desk and media unit. Used as a desk it can neatly store a laptop when not being used. Available in chestnut or bright red, the unit’s clean lines and lack of legs help to cut down on the cluttery feeling characteristic of small spaces.
