Alexander Girard Nativity Set
2010
Another adorable nativity set, this time courtesy of House Industries and inspired by Alexander Girard who apparently had amassed a huge collection of nativity sets. This is almost painfully cute, no?

A classic family Christmas story is the year our toilet blocked. We called in a plumber, who managed to find the obstructing items. One-by-one, he pulled out all of the characters from our nativity set from under the tree. My brother Simon, then one year old, had flushed baby Jesus and his crew!
This nativity set by Massimo Giacon and Alessi is so fun, especially if there are kids in the house. You can purchase it here.
Christmas is fast approaching: I’m very much in the spirit this year! How about you?
Normann Copenhagen’s Hang on Hanger wall hanger is the most attractive alternative I’ve seen to leaving your clothes in a pile on the floor. The designer, Jade Barnes-Richardson, describes the product as “chaos and order at the same time.” Comes in black, green, white, and the best of all… hot pink!

Designed by a young Danish designer named Gry Fager and manufactured by Normann-Copenhagen, the Mormor line of dinnerware was inspired by the simplest thing: a kitchen tea towel. “Mormor” means “grandmother” in Swedish and the line is meant to evoke something of past generations. Says Fager: “I have been inspired by the atmosphere and the character of the kitchen, particularly older kitchens from my grandmother’s time and I have transferred the kitchen clichés into a modern context.” I love these beautiful dishes for their mix of modernity and homeyness – beautiful work.
Bright and modern, the architecturally-inspired Hillside Storage Unit was created by Swedish company Calesson Koivisto Rune.
