Anything is Possible

Jelly bracelets! Sure bring me back to being a kid. You can grab your own vintage set on Etsy. (found via Tara Cadenelli on Pinterest)

I’ve been thinking a lot about what it means to be youthful.  Perhaps a typical reflection set off by a recent birthday? Some adult steps have been taken recently. Such as owning my own business. With a real live office space that I was responsible for finding and setting up. And then there’s trying to woo potential clients and convincing them and feeling truly accountable for the work we put out. And there’s also learning about financials and feeling like I really understand how a business works. It’s funny how such “grown-up” events have made me feel: that anything is possible. That’s how I felt when I was a kid.  The feeling you could do anything, remember it? It’s back. And wow, I had missed it.

Birthday

Mar 23
2011

Today is my 31st birthday. Looking at photos of past birthdays, this makes me feel a bit old.

No more Strawberry Shortcake cakes with jujubes on top!

Or cakes bigger than myself, for that matter.

The year I got a trampoline was seriously AWESOME.

But blowing out the candles was always the BEST.

This birthday interlude was brought to you by… the ghost of birthdays past!

Even though I won’t get to wear a cone-shaped hat, I still look forward to celebrating my birthday – if just to get together with everyone I love.

Pug Love

2011

A photo that made me smile. I prefer cats to dogs in general; but pugs make me happy. The owners of my hair salon bring their pug to work with them, and she is the sweetest little creature to cuddle while I’m getting cut and dyed!

To be honest, I’m pretty drained these days, so there’s not too much spirit behind my blogging (hence my going on about pugs). All of my work endeavours, while rewarding, are kind of exhausting me. I’m not sleeping very well either. I hope to be in better shape next week.

Spring Flowers

2011

Is anything more exciting than seeing the first tulips in spring? I brought these home from the grocery store the other day. As I write this, the sun is shining through the window and I can’t help but feel positive.  I hope to be back a bit later today with another post, but in the meantime, have a great Thursday.
