LOVE Essie’s spring collection, themed around France and wine, sand and shopping. It’ll be nice to be wearing lighter, softer colours. I especially like the blue (Coat Azure) and the beige at top right (Sand Tropez), but I also really like the barely there pinky white glimmery colour at bottom right (Kisses & Bises). Which is your fave?

Lately I have been having so much fun with different colours of nail varnish so I thought I’d share some quick pics. Please excuse the quality: these were taken with either my iPhone or my computer cam.

This first one is called Glitzerland by OPI. It’s a bronzy gold colour. It’s actually pretty tame considering it’s gold and sparkly, but I like it!

And this one is Essie’s Forever Young… I took this picture with the Hipstatmatic iPhone app. You can’t see the colour much but trust me, it’s a most perfect shade of red.

This is me sitting at home yesterday draped in my IKEA fleece blankie and sporting some mega red lips. I’m wearing Pro Longwear Lipcolour by MAC in Lasting Lust. As they say: va-va-vooom... No but seriously, I highly recommend this very lovely product, which I tried on at the store and bought yesterday.

Confessions:

1. I only started wearing makeup daily when I was about 24. Thus I usually feel retarded when it comes to all things makeup.
2. I’ve never regularly worn lip colour because it always rubbed off. Until I discovered the existence of long-lasting lip colour, like, last week. Guys, it stays on FOREVER. I mean, it would last through a shower. It would last through ARMAGEDDON.
3. I have big lips. And curly hair. And a somewhat dark skin tone for a white person. You read right: white person. I like looking different; no one ever thinks I’m white. I have gotten all sorts of crazy guesses on what my background is. The sad truth is that I’m, like, 100% French-Canadian stock. Booooring. But I can at least poof up the ‘fro and jazz up the lips and somehow I look like I’m from some more exciting locale than New Brunswick, Canada.
4. My thumbs are freakishly double-jointed, see first shot.
5. Fine, if you insist. The Boo photoshopped my chin. My skin tone was uneven and I was feeling a lil’ self-conscious.
