Raving About… Lillian Crowe Jewellery

Jeweller Lillian Crowe‘s stunning pieces are absolutely up my alley. Especially the pyramid ring. So very tempted.

Pretty Neutrals

Of note: a) This is my 500th post on Red Glasses. Woohoo! b) I write this from my newly-dented MacBook Pro. Unfortunately I had a run-in with the sidewalk this morning. While I wasn’t personally injured – except perhaps my ego – my poor laptop wasn’t as lucky.

I wanted to share a few pieces I’m coveting. The Montreal-made Harakiri coral pendant is so beautiful and delicate.  The Marc by Marc Jacobs bag is a classic you could use for years. And the Chloe flats with the scallops add a delicate touch that makes the shoe anything but ordinary.

From Book to Look: The Feast of the Goat

This fascinating book about the 30-year dictatorship in the Dominican Republic was written by this year’s Nobel Peace Prize winner, Peruvian author Mario Vargas Llosa. This book difficult to read (Trujillo was a truly evil dictator!) and it’s quite long, but I would highly recommend it if you’re interested in the history of Latin America.

A Wall of Art

Admittedly I’m bipolar in my design tastes. I love the extremes of home decor: sparse, Scandinavian interiors appeal to me with their simplicity, but so do eclectic and busy spaces with tons of disparate art pieces adorning the walls. I’d be hard pressed to say which type of decor I’d rather live among. What about you?

Walls of art: I dream of setting up the perfect one. Art of various inspirations and styles, big and small, adorned in a variety of frames or simply tacked to the walls. Here are some of the best examples I’ve found in the past month or so. These have me dreaming for sure!

Lundi Lunettes: Sonia Rykiel

Love it when designers use glasses to complete their looks.  And aren’t these Sonia Rykiel pieces to die for? I quite badly want the outfit on the far right.
