This cute number by Eskell has a delicately detailed top layer and a more flamboyantly coloured teal slip underneath.

Pin It Forward

May 24
2010

I’m excited to once again participate in the lovely Sfgirlbybay‘s new “Blog It Forward” project, Pin It Forward, which kicks off today.  Like last time, a group of bloggers will be taking turns blogging on a particular theme. During the last round we blogged about what inspires us (see my contribution here).  It was a great way to discover amazing blogs.

This time the topic is “what home means to us”  and as part of their blog post, everyone will be creating a “pinboard” on the new photo-sharing site Pininterest (see a great pinboard example here).  Starting today, you can follow who’s posting when with the schedule and definitely don’t forget to check back on June 29 when it’ll be my turn!

Lundi Lunettes: Brought To You By Queen Vic & Les Patriotes

May 24
2010

Happy Monday! Today is sort of a fake Monday in Canada, as it’s Victoria Day Monday and we have the day off. For those not familiar, Victoria Day is a uniquely Canadian holiday during which we celebrate the British Queen. In the province of Quebec it’s actually La Journée des patriotes to celebrate our own set of founding fathers. But! More interestingly, this holiday long weekend marks the beginning of summer in a lot of people’s minds.  And that, my friends, is reason enough to celebrate.

On the topic of glasses: I’ve been shopping eBay for glasses this weekend. There are some really beautiful vintage frames but I wonder how well they’d take new lenses.  Anyone have experience with this?

Lounge Back

May 21
2010

These rooms are so marvellously put together. My next home will have a corner for a fabulous lounge chair.  So decadently stylish.

And speaking of decadence, I have spent the afternoon napping and walking in the sun. I love that my new(ish) employer “bridges” holiday long weekends (turns three-day weekends into four-day weekends). I’m so appreciative of being able to slow down and relax. Life lately has been way too much about getting things done and not enough about stopping and smelling the flowers.

Perforated Perfection

May 21
2010

I’ve been a fan of Matt & Nat‘s animal-friendly handbags for several years, but with the past few collections felt like they had lost some of their je ne sais quoi. Well, I’m happy to report that I spotted some bags from the new collection in store last night and was pleasantly surprised! The colours and shapes are totally sweet and the perforations in the material are very cute.  What do you think? Are you digging them as much as I am?
