A Study of Bedrooms
2010
A serene and calming room is of ultimate importance to one’s well-being. While I’m a huge proponent of colour in interior decor, it’s best to go easy when it comes to the bedroom. It may have to do with my little brother’s bright red bedroom when we were growing up and how it hindered his sleep.
In any event, here are some bedrooms I like. They’re not all serene – in fact, they’re all quite different from one another. But they’re all beautiful. The one above is fabulous for its queenly, vintage style. And I love the one below because of its low-to-the-ground bed, a style that really makes me feel, well, grounded. Isn’t the shade of blue on the walls beautiful?
And this. Well, what do you call it? Gorgeous? Those walls and ceiling are beautiful with their big beams. And the window is magnificent.
This one is divine.. Everything about it is perfect, from the light fixture to the rug and white floor to the Pulp Fiction photo leaning against the wall.
A yellow headboard is a very cool idea. The bed is pretty ornate. I like it.
Another yellow headboard? Yep. Admittedly, this room is more my style than the one above. Love how the headboard looks against the dark wall. There are so many wonderful textures and patterns in this bedroom.
Love the dark floors and walls (which are not unlike the walls in the room above), the books on the floor, the gigantic floor mirror and the star burst-shaped light fixture.
One for the wallpaper lovers out there…This is Vivienne Westwood’s wallpaper. Love the mix of blue-coloured patterns in this room. It takes a lot of talent to pull a room like this together.
Grandma would love this one. But I do, too.

I would LOVE to live in the third bedroom, the one with all the light and big window. It looks so peaceful and cozy. Thanks for posting all these, they’re pretty gorgeous.

Oh, these are gorgeous, gorgeous rooms. I really adore the look of the yellow headboard. You know, there’s nothing like coming home, walking into your room and feeling like you’re in a luxurious hotel.
