Tough-Looking Concrete Planters
2010
These concrete planters from Etsy shop Tortoise Loves Donkey are solid and imposing in contrast to the teeny tiny plants they house. Very cool!

When I was a kid my family owned a business that manufactured and sold hardwood floors, ceilings and wainscotting. You could say I have a healthy appreciation of wood, having grown up surrounded by it. I love its modern incarnations in these home interiors. So beautiful! (Click on each picture to make it larger)

Alexander Wang has gone All-American in his spring /summer 2010 line wherein sporty denim, khaki and sweatshirt materials play starring roles. Above are my favourite pieces but his classic black dresses are once again available.
One of my favourite fashion blogs, Calivintage, has posted an oufit that I’m totally digging. Love the Native American-inspired print on the sweater and the purple heels! So pretty!
Things I like about Proenza Schouler‘s Pre-Fall collection:
1. Preppy chic: some pieces wouldn’t look out of place on an Ivy League campus
2. Sober & tough: there’s a certain rigidity in the structure of the pieces
3. Boyish: some of the jackets, especially, look like they were borrowed from a boyfriend
Altogether, I’m really loving this collection.
